Blackhawk Walk
The Blackhawk Walk is SES PTO’s only student fundraiser. Students receive and collect donations during the week of the Blackhawk Walk. During that week, students earn the opportunity to win a variety of prizes. At the end of the week, each class celebrates with a walk-a-thon obstacle course! These funds go to support EVERYTHING we do during the school year and is our most important fundraiser

Kroger Rewards
Log in to the website or your Kroger App and register your Kroger rewards card. Any transactions moving forward using the Shopper’s Card number associated with your digital account will be applied to the program, at no added cost to you.

Dining to Donate
A delicious way to support Sheridan Elementary PTO! We partner with local restaurants, where Sheridan families can enjoy a meal, and a portion of the proceeds goes directly back to our PTO. It's an easy and tasty way to give back while spending time with your family and community. Rent the HawkRock
Birthdays, big wins, welcome-home messages, congratulations, school spirit, or just because you feel like making somebody’s morning, the Hawk Rock is yours for the day! For $15, your family can reserve the rock and paint it for your special occasion. It’s a fun Sheridan tradition and another simple way to support SES PTO while making someone’s day a little more colorful.
Where Do PTO Funds Go?
When you donate to the Blackhawk Walk, eat at a Dining to Donate night, connect your Kroger Rewards account, bid at the silent auction, or support one of our fundraisers, that money comes right back to Sheridan Elementary. Sometimes you can see it pretty easily, like a new Gaga Ball pit on the playground or the climbing wall in the gym. Other times it looks like a teacher grabbing the supplies they need without having to reach into their own pocket, a stocked workroom on the first Friday of the month, or hundreds of Sheridan families walking into one of our events without being asked to buy a ticket. That is what your support makes possible.

Supporting Our Classrooms
At the beginning of every school year, PTO provides $100 in classroom reimbursement to every classroom teacher to help offset the very real out-of-pocket cost of getting a classroom ready for students. Throughout the year, we also help provide books, classroom materials and those random-but-necessary supplies teachers need to make their classrooms work.
Because dry erase markers apparently disappear into the same mysterious void as kids' water bottle lids.
Taking Care of the People Who Take Care of Our Kids
Our teachers and staff pour an incredible amount into Sheridan students, so a little of our budget is reserved for pouring something back into them, too. PTO provides treats throughout the year and stocks the teacher workroom on the first Friday of every month for Fab FriYAY, giving staff a little something to look forward to between lesson plans, meetings, recess duty and approximately nine million requests for help opening snack packages.
$2,500 Toward PBIS
Each year, PTO contributes $2,500 to Sheridan Elementary's PBIS fund. PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports and is part of the school's approach to encouraging positive behavior, recognizing students for making great choices, and building a positive school environment.
In much less acronym-y language: we help fund some of the fun, positive ways SES celebrates kids for doing good things, like stocking the B-Bucks Store and Funding Assemblies.
Big Projects That Stick Around
Fundraising also gives PTO the ability to say yes to bigger projects that benefit students year after year. In the last few years, PTO funds have helped build a new Gaga Ball pit and fund the climbing wall in the gym.
Those aren't one-day purchases. They are things Sheridan kids will get to use, play on and enjoy for years.
Keeping Family Events FREE
We want PTO events to feel like something every Sheridan family can simply show up and enjoy. Fundraising helps us keep Monster Mash, Blitzen's Barn, Donuts with Grownups and the Spring Carnival free to attend, so families don't have to decide whether another school event fits into the budget.
You bring the kids. We'll worry about the rest.
And Plenty of Little Things In Between
Not every PTO purchase comes with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and honestly, a lot of the important ones don't. We work with teachers and staff throughout the year to help meet needs as they come up, whether that means classroom supplies, books, materials, student activities or an unexpected need that makes school a little better for our Blackhawks.
That is why the Blackhawk Walk matters so much. It isn't fundraising just for the sake of fundraising. It gives us the ability to say yes to our teachers, our students and our school all year long.
